We would like to share a new initiative by Leiden Circular Science Park (LCSP), that promotes sustainability and resource efficiency in the pharmaceutical industry.
This platform will provide a solution for unused consumables—such as plastic bottles, tubes, plates, pipettes, pipette tips, chemicals, and other materials—that would otherwise be discarded. Instead of throwing these valuable resources away, they can be repurposed for research and development purposes by startups or used by students for educational activities.
This initiative will help reduce waste and prevents unnecessary loss of valuable resources, creating a more sustainable and resource-efficient future.
How it works:
The platform will be open to all companies located at the Bio Science Park, offering a simple way to either donate or collect unused consumables for free or at a minimal cost.
It’s a win-win: startups gain access to much-needed materials, and established companies contribute to a circular economy while reducing their environmental footprint.
This initiative underscores the importance of sustainability and collaboration in driving innovation in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
By working together, we can minimize waste and maximize impact!
