BioPartner receives a grant for their circular idea

Leiden wants to reuse as many items and materials as possible and prevent waste. The municipality’s Circular Revaluation grant supports entrepreneurs and residents with innovative plans that contribute to this goal.

Alderwoman Yvonne van Delft: “If we work on circularly, we contribute to major changes such as the transition to sustainable energy. We also reduce problems, such as CO₂ emissions. Working on circularly is therefore very important and helps us make good choices.”

Many excellent ideas were submitted again this year. After a careful selection process, a total of eleven entrepreneurs and residents were invited to present their plans to the assessment committee, and were awarded a grant to realize their ideas. We’re proud that one of those project is at Leiden BioScience Park:

“Old junk is just fun,” is a motto of Thijs from the BioPartner Foundation. He transformed the outdoor area of the Biopartner 4 building. Upon completion, he used secondhand materials as much as possible. How did he do that? He’d like to share this process with other businesses in business parks.
